Chapter 579-Reizel Vs. Joaquin (2)
Chapter 579
Joaquin was shocked seeing how a true dragon manifested in front of him.
From this, he knew he stood no chance against her.
"You've really been hiding this, huh?"
"Surprise!"
Reizel winked, confidence radiating from her.
The two siblings faced off, the atmosphere charged with energy. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Joaquin knew he had to act fast. "Drake, let's show her what we can do!"
The drake lunged forward, charging at the ice dragon.
Drake was fearful at first, but he knew that it was his time to show that even though he was not a full-fledged dragon, his courage was the same as a real dragon.
Joaquin poured all his energy into the attack, believing in his familiar's strength.
But Reizel was ready.
With a flick of her wrist, the ice dragon unleashed a blast of icy wind, meeting the drake head-on.
"Hoh, a mere drake dares to fight me?"
Boom!
The impact sent shockwaves through the arena, and Joaquin struggled to keep his footing.
"Is that all you've got?"
Reizel called out, a teasing lilt in her voice.
"You can do better!"
Fueled by her words, Joaquin gritted his teeth.
"Drake, let's combine our powers!"
The drake roared in agreement, its body glowing with energy as it charged again.
This time, it summoned a whirlwind around itself, creating a protective barrier.
Joaquin felt a surge of hope.
"Now!" he shouted, directing the drake toward Reizel.
But Reizel was unfazed. With a swift movement, she commanded her ice dragon to create a barrier of ice, which shattered the whirlwind like glass.
"Impressive," Reizel said, a hint of respect in her tone.
"But you'll have to do better to beat me."
The ice dragon swooped down, its icy breath chilling the air.
Joaquin felt the cold wrap around him, but he pushed through, refusing to give in.
"I won't back down!"
With newfound determination, Joaquin and his drake launched a coordinated attack.
They leaped into action, dodging the dragon's icy breath and striking with a flurry of moves.
But Reizel was quick. She directed her ice dragon to create a swirling blizzard, obscuring the arena in a storm of snow and ice.
Joaquin squinted, trying to see through the chaos.
"Joaquin! Stay focused!" he heard Reizel's voice echoing through the storm.
Suddenly, the ice dragon lunged, its fangs glistening with frost.
Joaquin barely managed to dodge, feeling the rush of icy air as it whooshed past him.
"You can't avoid me forever!"
Reizel taunted, her laughter ringing clear even in the midst of the blizzard.
In that moment, Joaquin realized he had to change his strategy.
He needed to think outside the box. "Drake, let's use our speed!"
With a burst of energy, they darted around the ice dragon, confusing it.
Reizel frowned, realizing her dragon couldn't keep up with their agility.
But just as Joaquin thought he had the upper hand, Reizel whispered a command.
The ice dragon unleashed a flurry of icy shards that rained down like daggers.
"Look out!"
Joaquin shouted, barely managing to shield himself and his drake.
The crowd gasped as the ice shards pierced the air, creating a dazzling yet deadly display.
But in the chaos, Joaquin saw an opening.
"Now, Drake! Let's strike!"
With all the strength they had left, Joaquin and his drake charged at Reizel.
But just as they were about to reach her, Reizel raised her hand.
"Frost Barrier!" she called, summoning a wall of ice just in time.
The impact sent shockwaves through the arena as Joaquin stumbled back.
"This… this is incredible!" he exclaimed, panting heavily.
Reizel's gaze softened for a moment. "You've grown so much, Joaquin. I'm proud of you."
Joaquin smiled before he fainted on the spot due to exhaustion.
The drake also disappeared and went back to his grimoire.
Joaquin did his best, but he still fell short against Reizel.
The onlookers were amazed at the battle of the siblings, and they applauded Joaquin.
Fighting against a dragon seemed impossible to win with just a drake, but he still tried his best and let them see a good match.
.......
For the Final Round.
Since there were five remaining contestants, there would be draw lots, and the one who was drawn would be exempted and would fight in the final round.
Of course, there was no suspense; Hannah was chosen in the draw lots and was now sure to enter the ruins because she directly entered the finals.
Dave had tried to trick them again to bet on who would be chosen in the draw lots, but no one wanted to bet with the devil like him.
As for Caryll, she managed to draw Konrad Leaf while Reizel fought Vonna.
When Elder Koro heard that Konrad would fight Caryll, he became nervous and felt that he was starting to have bad luck.
'Why does Konrad have to face that brat in this round?'
If Konrad met Caryll in the last round, it would be okay to lose because they already secured a spot.
But now, if Konrad loses, then they wouldn't be going to the ruins anymore and would have to wait for the next tournament.
.....
In the Stage, Konrad remained confident even though he would be matched against Caryll.
On the other hand, Caryll was starting to get bored because everyone she battled was weak and could not fight against her.
"Ready!"
The referee announced, and Caryll dashed to Konrad without fear.
Caryll suddenly appeared in front of Konrad, but before she punched him, he shouted.
"I surrender!"
The fist of Caryll was already near the face of Konrad, but she stopped when she heard his words.
She tilted her head in confusion.
"What?"
Everyone was shocked, and even Elder Koro was shocked by Konrad's decision.
"I am no match for you, so I surrender."
Konrad smiled before he walked away.
Everyone felt that his choice was right because Caryll was unstoppable, but to surrender when near the final was a pity.
"Oh? A pity."
Caryll was sad not to show off her powers again.
Konrad, whose back was facing Caryll, suddenly smiled before he vanished and appeared right before Caryll.
He stretched his hands, and a dagger appeared, aimed at Caryll's heart.
"Die!"
Boom!
"Hoho, tired of acting already?"
Dave smiled, holding the neck of Konrad, who was shocked and didn't know when Dave had appeared in front of him.
Everyone was shocked by what happened and they didn't expect Konrad to be so shameless.
"How do you want to die?"
Dave squeezed the neck of Konrad, and Konrad struggled, seeming unable to breathe.
For Dave, trying to kill his disciple, whom he treated like his daughter, was an unforgivable crime, and he would exterminate all involved in this plan.
"Mercy! Please forgive my grandson."
Elder Koro suddenly appeared next to Dave and seemed to want to get Konrad out of Dave's hands.
"Hmph, old man, you seem to not understand anything."
"How impudent you are."
Elder Koro, who was about to get Konrad, was locked by a violet chain that pierced his limbs.
"Arghh!"
The chains pierced all his limbs, and a sharp chain was pointing at Koro's head; one wrong move would pierce him.
"Arghh!"
Dave smiled and said, "When are you going to act?"
Dave gripped Konrad tightly before Konrad smiled and said, "How did you know?"
Konrad's smile became eerie, but Dave remained calm and replied, "You smell rotten."
Konrad smiled more evilly before his skin started to melt, and the atmosphere turned tense.
